I have good news and bad news. The good news is I have a contract with Macmillan for a book, my biography of William Shockley, the co-inventor of the transistor and general all-around shit, to be published next spring. The bad news is that it will keep my fairly busy during the summer. I will still be filing here regularly, but perhaps not as often as I have been doing, especially since the book pays, the blog doesn't. I will keep it going because it's fun, but I may not be able to make it five days a week. The deadline is August 31. Patience and keep coming by.The management
